Andrew and Alanna first crossed paths at Kapaun Mt. Carmel High School in 2012, during their freshman year. They found themselves in the same chemistry and physics class where Andrew asked Alanna to be his lab partner, she declined. After that, they didn’t talk much—until a mutual friend’s quinceañera when Andrew asked Alanna to dance and she said yes. From there, their young relationship began.
Dating during those years wasn’t always easy due to six months of long distance, but their connection was undeniable. Andrew made the weekly trip to the hospital where Alanna volunteered so he could see her. They found themselves at the movie theater often where they would have dates. Through it all, they stuck by each other—from high school graduation and onto Wichita State University, both pursuing engineering degrees.
At college, they grew together as partners and even embarked on separate semesters abroad—Andrew in Germany, Alanna in Austria—where their shared passion for travel began as they met up at least once a month in new cities. As their college years came to a close in 2020, Alanna’s job took them to Texas where they started building a life together and bought their first home in 2023.
And after 11 incredible years, countless shared adventures, and one unforgettable 5 a.m. hot-air balloon ride, Andrew and Alanna were finally engaged—ready to begin the next chapter of their journey together with all their friends and family on their 13th dating anniversary, May 10th, 2025.
